Organization Overview
Holy Name Housing Corporation, established as a non-profit 501c3 in 1982, has provided over 500 homes to low-income individuals and families in its 25 years of working in the North Omaha community.  The organization provides construction and rehabilitation of homes; counseling that assists low income families to address their obstacles to homeownership and to understand the benefits and responsibilities of owning a home; pre-qualification of prospective homeowners; real estate services including obtaining financing for home purchase; warranty work for homeowners; and training and education for the CROWN (Credit to Own) Program.

The mission of Holy Name Housing Corporation is to develop a strong community one home at a time.  HNHC believes that every individual deserves respect, regardless of his/her educational status, race or beliefs.  The organization believes that every Omaha resident has a right to decent and affordable housing in a safe and healthy community.  It believes that owning one’s own home leads to strong community development and financially stable neighborhoods.

Help Build a Legacy
The Planned Giving Program of Holy Name Housing Corporation can accommodate estate planning options that benefit you and your family, while providing a secure future for the important work of the organization.  Those who make planned gifts to Holy Name Housing Corporation play a leadership role in building an endowment fund, which will deliver a predictable source of annual funds, supporting the ongoing building of homes in North Omaha.

Financially Support Holy Name Housing Corp this Year
Increasingly, generous individual Americans see this area of the economy as an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of individuals, families, and communities. Home ownership is a productive way that many communities can leverage the dollars they are already spending on education and social services.  They can enter partnerships that support increased home ownership for lower-income families and watch for improvements in school performance; reduction in teen pregnancy, violence and a more stable and efficient economy.

Holy Name Housing Corporation is supported through federal funding, private foundations, local corporations, and individual donors.

“Build houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them; take wives, and beget sons and daughters;…that you may be increased there, and not diminished.  And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray to the Lord for it; for in the peace of the city you shall have peace.”

(Jeremiah 29: 5-7)

“Home ownership creates
more stable households in safer neighborhoods.  Better schools.  More cohesive communities.  Citizens who are more active and involved. Communities with higher levels of home ownership have lower crime levels, lower expenditures for support to their criminal justice systems, and more secure tax bases.
Flexible, low-cost housing capital is an investment in the common future, the larger economy.”

(The Greater Good, Claire Gaudiani)
