Executive Director
Matthew Cavanaugh
Born and raised in Omaha with deep ties to the community, Cavanaugh spent many years in Illinois working in local government and homeless prevention and completing a master's degree at the University of Illinois of Chicago, College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs. His last position was Executive Director of the Nebraska Housing Developers Association where he received and administered development, technical assistance, and housing assistance grants from the Nebraska Departments of Economic Development and Health and Human Services as well as Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka and numerous private and philanthropic donors. A committed and experienced champion for quality affordable housing and active supporter of the affordable housing and nonprofit communities, Cavanaugh served on the Holy Name Housing Corporation Board of Directors for the last 2 years. Cavanaugh also serves on the boards of Midwest Housing Development Fund, Housing in Omaha, and the Nebraska Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence.
Director of Development & Administrative Services
Mary
Mary’s primary position is grant writing for the organization as well as working with the Executive Director on housing development. Mary has 25+ year background in affordable housing which includes compliance, development, management and administrative work.
Chief Financial Officer
Elaine
Elaine serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Holy Name Housing Corp. She has over 25 years of experience in the finance industry. Although she worked at for-profit businesses for most of her career, Elaine has spent the past ten years working for nonprofit organizations. Filling leadership roles, including Chief Operating Officer at the Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum and most recently as Senior Vice-President of Mission Advancement at Goodwill Industries. She is an operations-focused leader who consistently looks to improve efficiencies and transparency for both internal and external customers. Her expertise includes financial analysis, budgeting and strategic planning.
Title Staff Accountant
Sarah
Sarah has joined Holy Name Housing Corporation as a Staff Accountant. Sarah has nearly 20 years of experience working in a non-profit setting. In a variety of roles, from case manager to director level positions Sarah’s focus is on helping individuals in the community reach self-sufficiency. Sarah is an organized and detailed oriented person and strives for positive outcomes for herself, her co-workers, and those we serve.
Paralegal and Document Control Manager
Jennifer
Jennifer joined HNHC in 2019 bringing with her over 25 years of paralegal experience. Jennifer is responsible for real estate administration, site control, and land inventory, project development/closing due diligence, DED contracts, Special Conditions, environmental reviews, TIF grant applications, EEIP administration, and electronic document conversion/control/organization.
Construction Manager
Cory
Cory has 28 years experience in the construction industry. He started out framing homes under the tutelage of his father, and worked alongside him and his brothers for ten years before branching off on his own. Cory has always been committed to delivering high quality construction projects to his customers, including new residential homes, residential remodels, decks, siding projects and custom cabinetry. Cory has enjoyed a very successful career on his own, but he is excited to be a team member at HNHC where he can make a difference in our community and still do the work that brings him happiness. His background allows him to ensure that each HNHC project runs quickly and efficiently. In this position, Cory oversees all aspects of the construction of new homes developed by HNHC.
Assistant Bookkeeper
Heather
Heather is a results-oriented customer service professional with 12+ years of customer service and bookkeeping experience. She has lived in Omaha her whole life. An enthusiastic, tenacious, and initiative oriented individual that describes herself as a self-motivated, persevering and determined to achieve personal and professional goals.
Heather owned her own business for several years and realized customer service and helping people were her passion. Heather’s family owned a successful business in Omaha where she served as Bookkeeper and Customer Service Manager. The experience as an entrepreneur and working with family to build a successful business made her realize just how passionate she is about working hard and being part of a family business. That is why she is so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Holy Name Housing team – it’s like family here – and watching how passionate the employees are to be a part of changing our community – she knew this is where she wanted to work and live out her passions.
Administrative Assistant
Tressa
Tressa joined Holy Name Housing as an Administrative Assistant in 2024. She has a background in accounting, social service work and construction management for over 20 years. She believes in Holy Name Housing’s mission. She is a mother of 3 children and in her spare time she likes to travel and loves football. GO BIG RED!
Support Services Manager
Autumn
Autumn recently joined Holy Name Housing in October 2021 and comes to us with a background in human services. Autumn is passionate about helping the community and is excited to use her knowledge to support tenants. Autumn is responsible for all tenant support services.
Board of Directors
A volunteer-member Board of Directors provides guidance to the management and staff of Holy Name Housing Corporation. The board meets quarterly or as needed to review budgets, discuss policy changes, review the mission statement, and update the business plan if needed.
Members of HNHC Board include neighborhood residents, neighborhood business owners and professionals who have an interest and expertise in community development. These members are also on the Board of Holy Name Properties, a wholly owned subsidiary of HNHC that serves as a General Partner for the Partnerships responsible for the Management of HNHC’s housing units.
